At the 3 day conference Gastekniske Dage (Gas Technical Days) in Billund professor Poul Erik Morthorst from DTU Management Engineering recieved the annual gas award.
“I am very surprised, honored and humbled by this award. This room is full experts on gas, but still I have been chosen to recieve it. It is fantastic, thank you so much”, Poul Erik Morthorst says.
Poul Erik Morthorst is awarded for his work on the FutureGas project. Already in 2014 he took initiative to the project and took the first steps in getting everything organized. This all culminated in the project grant from The Danish Innovation Fund for the 4-year long FutureGas project coordinating interdisciplinary research and development in the gas sector.
Gastekniske Dage took place in Billund on May 24-26 2017. It was the 10th time Dansk Gas Forening and Brancheforeningen for Biogas hosted the conference and 279 participated.

Projektleder fra FutureGas får gaspris
På de Gastekniske Dage i Billund modtog professor fra DTU, Poul Erik Morthorst, årets gaspris.
“Jeg er forbavset, beæret, og så er jeg faktisk også lidt ydmyg, for her står jeg foran flere hundrede dygtige mennesker, der alle sammen kender mere til gas end jeg gør, og så har I alligevel valgt mig til at få den her pris. Det er jo fantastisk, så tusind tak skal I have”, lød det fra en glad og overrasket Poul Erik Morthorst.
Poul Erik Morthorst får prisen for sit arbejde med FutureGas-projektet. Allerede i 2014 tog Poul Erik Morthorst initiativ til projektet og startede forarbejdet, som mundede ud i bevillingen fra Innovationsfonden til det 4-årige projekt, som skal sikre koordineret forskning og udvikling på tværs af gassektoren.
De Gastekniske Dage blev afholdt i samarbejde mellem Dansk Gas Forening og Brancheforeningen for Biogas i Billund 24-26. maj. Det var 10. gang gaskonferencen fandt sted og der var samlet ikke mindre end 279 deltagere og 19 udstillere samlet under hovedtemaet Gassens rolle i den grønne fremtid.
